You can create a new business customer account under the start page item "Create an account now!".
In the next step, select the account that is appropriate for you. For a new business customer account, please select the second item "Business customer account".
Businesses, Sole proprietorships, associations of persons, clubs, registered merchants (eingetragener Kaufmann - e.K.) or freelancers, etc. can only register as business customers in the portal for citizens and business customers.
If you already have a business customer account in the portal for citizens and business customers and would like to create a new user account to have it added to your business customer account, please select the selection option "User account for an existing business customer account".
3. Set access method
Select your access method. The following access methods:
ELSTER or
email and password
may be selected.
Please note that the services offered are subject to different conditions with regard to access. In order to be able to use all services in full in the portal for citizens and business customers, it is recommended that you access the portal using ELSTER.
If you have selected ELSTER as your access method, you will be redirected to the ELSTER authentication portal to enter your means of access. Here you can see all the data sent to the portal for citizens and business customers. Please check and confirm this data. You will then be directed back to the registration process of the portal for citizens and business customers.
4. Create user data
Please enter your user details: first and last name, email address, password and preferred language.
5. Activate users
Once you have entered your user details, you will receive an email at the address you provided.
The link in the email will allow you to activate your account. You will then receive a confirmation message that will allow you to proceed to registration.
6. Log in
Log in with the access method you used for the registration process.
If you used ELSTER as your access method during registration, you will be redirected to the ELSTER authentication portal again for entry and then back to the portal for citizens and business customers.
7. Complete data
The next step is to enter your business customer data.
If you have selected ELSTER as an access method, please note that some fields are pre-filled with the data provided.
Did you select "A new user account for an existing business account"?
You have your created user account linked with a business customer account by sending the displayed code to the main user of your business customer account. No further registration steps are required on your part.
Provision of notices
You can consent to the electronic provision of notices to make it possible for you to retrieve your notices online in the portal for citizens and business customers. Please note that this applies only to the services offered through the portal for citizens and business customers.
For other customs services, you will continue to receive the notices in the usual way.
8. Confirmation
After you have entered your business customer data, it will be verified by customs. In individual cases, this process can take up to several days. After successful verification of your data, you will receive a confirmation of approval in the form of an email at the address you entered, which confirms that you can now use your account.
